Off the back of building a listenership in 100 countries around the world using a podcast (the Matt Brown Show) I am often invited to speak about how the media space is evolving.
Ironically, there has been little to no data about podcast media consumption… until now!
Towards the end of last year, my team and I undertook the largest independent research initiative into SA podcasting. It was supported by online and mainstream media across the country over a period of six months and resulted in capturing the podcast media consumption data of over 15,000 respondents.
Over 10 days, we released the data (and infographics) for free on social media and the response has been overwhelming from content producers and brands alike. Our goal at Matt Brown Media is to help shine some light onto the growing medium of podcasting and what it represents for entrepreneurs, businesses, the media and the public.
